Redirecting to a Confirmation page with Java

I have created a form which successfully submits application information to my godaddy email. What I now want to do is send a message to the user that his/ her information has been received and to thank them for taking the time to submit the information. In essene a friendly CONFIRMATION page that they are re- directed to. What I have learned is java may be the best way of doing this within the body of my HTML form. What I have read is that it seems as if its a simple line or two. My problem: I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO PLACE IT WITHIN THE BODY OF MY FORM. I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can answer my question!

first, Java != JavaScript (the only common things are the first 4 letters)

second, JavaScript cannot send emails.

besides that, probably any server-side language can do that easily (despite for Java Applets, Java executes on the server).

moving to Java forum.
