Hello, swethak!

First (I'll assume you're under Win) you must have a domain name registered that you can use to point to ipaddress or as an alternative you can edit your hosts file as follows:

File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Add this line: <ipaddress> <www.websitename.com>

Replace <ipaddress> and <www.websitename.com> to suit your needs.

Second you must tell Tomcat to interpret *.php files as if they were *.jsp files (I'm guessing that's what you want to do).

Go to your Tomcat directory and edit its web.xml file:

File: <tomcat-dir>\conf\web.xml

Look for something like:

(...)

<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

(...)

and add any extension you want to map, for PHP add this:

<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.php</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

Best regards!

Well, you can achieve that with a vhost.

Check this tutorial:
