Hi,

My take is that you try both and see what they offer. Then when you make a decision stick to it so you get to know the one you choose well. As an example, when I was starting out, I began with netbeans, worked on it for a while tried eclipse but went back to netbeans soon after. I found it difficult trying to learn how to use eclipse and therefore went back to my netbeans 'comfort zone'. I now use netbeans exclusively and am happy with it especially since they improved on performance since version 6.1. Version 6.0 was awfully slow -part of the reason I was considering switching to eclipse. Imagine having to wait 2 secs for code completion to give suggestions! This has dramatically improved though. Start up has also improved. I'd say netbeans is up there on top of the pack...

Oh… So this is the reason why my systems hangs most of the time... Fine…

And, if you start with netbeans and then switch to eclipse then it’s definite that you will come back to netbeans. So it’s always wise to try eclipse first, then netbeans, and finally choose between the two. This is my take.

I think 'going back' applies either way and it's not definite either. We sometimes tend to be resistant to change. If you try version 6.1 you will have a different story on the hanging side.

Yeah. Agreed. But it was just my opinion. My experience rather.

If you try version 6.1 you will have a different story on the hanging side.
Would that story have a happy ending?? :)

Don't know about the ending, but the thing surely loads fast especially if you disable modules you don't need. So the story at least has a happy beginning...
