Hey all :D

What are some examples of tasks you'd tell the computer to do via the operating system interface?

Answer: Pretty much every single every day task. (ie. open Firefox, open minesweeper, type "hello")

is that right?

also fix this:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
1. public class Cube
2. {
3.    public static void main()
4.    {
5.       double height = 3.0;  \ inches
6.       double cube_volume = height * height * height;
7.       double surface_area = 8 * height
8.       System.out.println("Volume = " cube_volume);
9.       System.out.println("Surface area = " + surface_area;
10.    }
11.
12.
13. I have so far:
14.
15.
16. {
17.    public static void main(String[] args)
18.    {
19.       double height = 3.0;  \ inches
20.       double cube_volume = height * height * height;
21.       double surface_area = 8 * height
22.       System.out.println("Volume = " cube_volume);
23.       System.out.println("Surface area = " + surface_area;)
24.    }
25. }

You're on the right track for fixing that code. A couple small hints: What denotes a comment in Java? Also, what denotes the end of a line of code?

Sure, those are examples. But also more basic stuff like "read the file xyz from the harddrive and show it to me".
also fix this:
We can help YOU fix it, if you like. We won't do it for you.

Just follow what Laharl said - comments and command separators are what you have to fix.

By the way, please use
...
tags when posting code - it makes life so much easier. I've added them in this case.
