How can i measure how long my program takes to complete the execution of a program?

In python you can get the system time before te program begins to execute and again get the system time after the execution of a program the you substract, how can I do a similar thing or any method than can accomplish this task, I would like to do this to analize my programs to check for a better approach.

You can read the System class.
