web services

Hi. I need to write a web service that takes the location of a PDF as a parameter, fetches the PDF and calls a method to convert it into TIFF image. I have written the code for PDF to TIFF conversion and as I am using Web Services for the first time, could even get nearer to it. Any help will be great. Cheers

So, if I understand correctly, you have to write the code to fetch the file and then call the method you've already written?
If the file has to be downloaded in some way, use the java.net package. You can find examples by just searching for "download files java" with Google. Note, there's a difference between HTTP and FTP downloads.
Calling the conversion code is easy. If it's in Java, just use it as you would use any other class. Otherwise, compile it and use the Runtime-class to execute external programs. Again, you'll find examples with Google.
Greetings,
