The signer certificate has expired

11
Hello Everybody,

I am using jarsigner to sign my application which works as Java Web Start.
When I try to sign my Jar it gives a warning that "the signer certificate has expired".

My problem is that:

If the certificate expires does the jar which is signed there will not have access to local machine ??

Otherwise ,
Does the jar file need to be signed with a valid certificate to give it access to the local machine ?

My jar will create a directory in the local machine where that application runs.
and also does unjarring some contents.

I could see the directory being created. But it could not unjar the contents.

Any idea of the source of the problem ??

Thanks in advance,
