Depends what "and all" means in "swing and all". You don't need to know Swing, though. A more informative statement from you would list what you do know -- "core java" is too vague.

Being well-versed in object-oriented analysis and design is important. As is knowledge of design patterns.

Java EE is also a wide collection of topics. Most people who say working in Java EE are only actively using a subset of it. Can you describe exactly what you will be using?

Depends on what you want to do in your project.
You could start with JSPs and servlets ...

  1. What specific areas of core Java do you know well? You may need to fill holes in your knowledge.
  2. Do you know object-oriented analysis and design? Design patterns?
  3. Java EE is also a wide collection of topics. "My project" doesn't tell me enough.
