Obviously exceptions are thrown at run time.
I meant what is your application supposed to be doing and at which point in your code the exception is thrown?
JSSE has been included in J2SE since 1.4 so it should be available.

I am trying to bring up a server that is doing some Authentication using the following class implementations

import java.security.KeyStore;
import java.security.cert.CertificateException;
import java.security.cert.X509Certificate;

import javax.net.ssl.TrustManager;
import javax.net.ssl.TrustManagerFactory;
import javax.net.ssl.X509TrustManager;

it falls over on managerFactory.init(keystore); where
managerFactory = TrustManagerFactory.getInstance("SunX509", "SunJSSE")

keystore = KeyStore.getInstance(KeyStore.getDefaultType());
keystore.load(null);

Thanks
