Whole number and decimal to the thousandths

Hello,

In Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8 I have a form field that users should be able to us to enter a whole number followed by a fraction or a decimal number such as:

45 1/8 or 45.125

I prefer to give the user the ability to enter a two digit whole number followed by a fraction in 16ths of an inch. The script should convert the number and fraction to a whole number, a decimal point, and a decimal number to the thousandths place as shown above.

If the conversion is not possible, I will furnish the user a table showing the conversion from fractions by 16ths to decimals. If that's the case, I just need a script that will allow data entry of the number example above into a decimal field. It will run client side. Thanks.
