Singleton Design Pattern

Hi,

I know that Struts follows Singleton Design Pattern. But can anyone tell me what does "only one object will be created" means? i mean to say is it an ActionServlet object or Connection Object or something else?

You can generally instantiate as many objects as you wish from a class during execution of a program. Sometimes you want there to be only one instance of a class at a given time and stop objects of that class to be created once one is in memory.

I don't know any struts.
