First of all, please don't double post.
Now, what exactly do you mean? Do you want to print the * symbol? Or are you looking for something a bit like this:

__/\__
\......../
/_ ..._\
....\/

(Dots just there, to create the correct form in this posting)

Use a Two for loop for this problem and them use System.out.println("") to print the result on console. Set the loops accrding to the shape. You can print many types of shapes.
