opening and saving a excel file without a password

4
Hello,

I have just completed a survey in excel which I've uploaded to my website.

The propblem is I would like the excel file to open directly online without asking for paswords and save the information onto my server, Instead of the user downloading the file onto their computer then resending me the file.

Is there any VB/ Java script script I can use? Can you help

Many thanks

I'll move your question to the Java Forums for now but I'm not sure whether or not
it belongs in that particular Forum; be prepared that someone moves it over to a
Javascript Forum; questions certainly don't belong in Articles sections.

kind regards,

Jos

Do I understand correctly:
  • you want a servlet or similar to open the excel-document on the website
  • the user fills in whatever information and then clicks on a "Save" button or similar
Then:
  1. The Data, which was entered should then be saved for you only? Or
  2. The next user should be able to fill in the original file? Or
  3. Several people should work on the same document?

By the way, Google may give you some answers - I searched for
online table xls excel ASP OR Java OR PHP OR JSP
and found a few things, that look quite promising.

On a further website (in german) I saw, that something similar should apparantly be possible with ASP, JSP or PHP. Maybe you should concentrate on one of those.

However, I am no expert, so if anybody has better surgestions - listen to them! ^^
