reading from configuration file

hi...........I am designing a front end using Dreamweaver tool.I am trying to link logo of comany which is fetched from config file but its not extracting.can u pls tell me how to read from a config file.

What's the format of that config file? If it's just a list of 'key=value' pairs let a
Properties object do the job. If not, please elaborate on the format of
such a file.
