Protecting PDF FIlea

Hi

am working in a prooject and i need to convert a word doc to a PDF file and protecte the PDF file "so no one can modifie it". so far i mange to convert the word doc to a PDF by using open office engen to do that for me. but i couldn't figur out how to protecting it. any idea how?
