executable jar files at startup

i have created simple executable jar file and coppied it to the
C:\Documents and Settings\........\Start Menu\Programs\Startup,expecting that my program may run at the starting up of the windows.
but following error massage appeared.

Java Virtual machine Launcher!
could not find the main class .program will exit.


but by making a doble click or issueing the command "java -jar filname.jar" my program working fine.can't a executable jar file be run at the startup or is there any wrong with the steps i have followed.the intention of my program to record the user who are loging to my pc and their logon and logoff time.
In addition i want to know how to trace windows shutting down time. i didn't came accross any system property relevent to getting shutting down time under java "System" class
.
