How listener Handle the pressed button

If i defined three buttons in a class, all buttons are private. I defined listener in another class. I registered all the buttons with the same listener. When abutton is pressed how listener knows the name of the button, if i will not pass the object of the main class in the listener??

Please any one answer this question immediately.

Look at the specs for the ActionEvent class and you will the methods
getActionCommand() and getSource() which you can use to identify the source/command of the action.
