how should i set JAVA_HOME variable should that be the path to jre or jdk ?

Sadly enough it depends; things such as Tomcat want JAVA_HOME to point to
your JDK; other popular packages want it to point to your JRE. Check the
particular documentation.

it's OpenJMS
i pointed it to jre then jdk and i still get
C:\OPENJMS\OPENJMS\BIN>startup
The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not set correctly.
This is required to run OpenJMS.

what cd be other combination?

the documentation says it must point to Java runtime environment installation directory.

Does it help when you point that thing at the ./bin directory of your JRE?

I thought that you set that variable to the JDK directory already before?

it worked before but then i changed something in JAVA_HOME dont know why and what for and i forgot what was the setting before but it was jdk it works with jdk thank you :)
