Simple Sip user agent

Hi, I have started to work on sip protocol in java. But i dont want to use any java sip API like SIP servlet or SIP jain etc. It is valuable to write that i have worked with sockets to create client server communication. Still i dont now how to initiate with sip connection with sip commands like Invite,ACK bye etc. Tell me if it is feasible to use sockets.if yes then how.
Waiting anxiously of someone's response.Thanx in advance.
