sending SMS to GSM Modems (with java)

i wanna ask if anybody knew how to send SMS to GSM Modems thru Java.

How can i send specific message to the GPRS modem with java??

i wanna the starting point, Can any body help?

how is the modem connected? serial port, usb, firewire, ??

did it come with a driver to enable a C/C++ program to send AT commands to the modem? If so you send commands and look at the reply etc. If not you need to talk to the USB port, see

but now how can i communicate with the modem using java??

i need more information to start coding..

How do you send commands to the modem? does it look like a serial port?
