i have to perform some action based on its value in front end

What is ftl?
If the variable is a java boolean then
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  if(variable) { 
  2. //executed if variable is true
  3. }
  4. else {
  5. //executed if variable is false
  6. }
