Build Motion Detector

Hi everyone,

i'm new at java language. But i've to built a software in java to my final project that can detect motion in live video with ip cameras.

Now my questions are, what can i do to start doing the software.

Like i told in the begning i'm new at this, if you have any tutorial that demonstrates how can i do this.
