Native code in Java is any code that is written in a language that is not java but is used in a java program.

Thanks a lot. Understood now.
An example of native code in java is input or output through files (RandomAccessFile) or any *.exe program. Am I right?

Not precisely. A good example is calling a c function in a java program.

:) Alright. I am trying to understand this tool (java open source) problem which it doesn't handle native code in program under test. My program under test (java)need to read an image file (FileInputStream).

One last question - what is mean by "mainly used for applications that are models, but require a full procedural programming language".
Thanks again....

Java and C++ are not really considered as procedural languages.
They are object oriented.

Think about what you want to use JNI for.
Why would you want to call something of another language? Because you cannot write it in Java(It requires a fully procedural implementation and Java is not fully procedural). Now how is it going to interact with the rest of your Java program? To a certain extent, it is not possible because the two functions ,say, are written in different programming languages so they cannot share variables e.t.c. The module being called must therefore be complete for it's task. It must be able to completely model it's problem and solve it returning only the solution to the Java program.

I get that now and you know what, by using the program model java interface mechanism user can model to its native code problem.
I really appreciate your effort to answer me and thanks a lot.
