Sending SMS with Java

i have project about sending SMS with java and i don't knew how to get started...

i did some searching and i feel it is little pit confusion...

so pls help me to figure out my questions....

i wanna use SMTP to send the sms to the getway but the problem is do i have 2 pay for the Serves provider (the getway)...

i wanna knew if I can do it by that way without paying for the serves provider (pls explain if u knew)...

can i pass the parameter in my program(the text message, the phone number) to website that have the ability to send sms ??? so that this web site will take care of the rest when it receive the information?????

the program that i wanna create is not just sending as sms but this is the main feacher in it....

i dont knew what to do at least i wanna the start point??? Pls help me if u have any idea ….
