how to set separators in a text file

In my project, i need to set separators in the text file. this text file is stored in the database as blob. The separators should help to retrieve the headings from the textfile into an html page.

Are you able to retrive the file from the database? You might have to save it to disk first, make the changes then write back the changed file to the database.
