Which group(s)?

Hey All!

I've looked through all of the *.java*.* groups on my news server and am
having a little trouble deciding where I should post questions that I may
have regarding a project that I am starting to work on.

Project Synopsis: This project will end up crossing multiple technologies
within Java when it is complete. The application will have a stand-alone
GUI, Web GUI, servlets, applets, and database features, among others as
the need crops up. The program will be connecting to my server upon
start-up to check for updates. It will also allow users of it to connect
to their version via web pages. It will have a command-line interface to
do pretty much everything that can be done in the GUI. Finally, all of
these methods of using the program will have a MySQL or PostGRE SQL server
on the backend.

As you can see from the Synopsis of my project, I may need to ask
questions that will actually apply to many, many discussion groups. As I
don't want to offend any group's readers, I was wondering where the best
place to post any questions that may come up. Any help that you all can
give me with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time in
answering this (most likely) stupid question. Have a fantastic day!

Cheers,

Sean

Hey All! Me again...

Just wanted to say that if I have a question on a particular technology
(i.e., GUI, database, applet, servlet, etc.) that doesn't involve
connection with any other technology, I know where to post that question.
What I'm needing to now is if the question involves something that is
crossing technological lines, how and where should I post that question?
Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.

Cheers,

Sean

Generally speaking, don't do that. Instead ask specific questions about
some aspect you're interested in, and it will usually be clear which group
that particular question is appropriate to.

Picking one group ahead of time for all possible questions is likely not to
give you results you want.
