try the following code:

File imageFile = new File("ur imgpath");
Class.forName("give ur driver here").newInstance();
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("give ur dsn with tablename,un,pwd here");
PreparedStatement pstmt = con.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO tablename VALUES( ?, ? )" );
pstmt.setString( 1,"fir");
InputStream is = new FileInputStream(imageFile);
pstmt.setBinaryStream( 2, is, (int)(imageFile.length()));
pstmt.executeUpdate();
