Problem with Netbeans JPDA debugger

hi,

i have installed netbeans 5.0 on windows XP and attached debugger with the following information
Debugger: JPDA Debugger
Connector:SharedMemoryAttach(Attaches by shared memory to other VMs)
Transport:dt_shmem
Name:jdbconn
It is working fine but when i did the same thing on different machine(but OS is windows 2000 server) i am able to attach the debugger but it is not debugging properly. Its not considering breakpoints and step in etc are not working in the normal way. Can you tell why this problem comes, is the problem is with OS or any extra configuration is to be made(which was not at all used in my machine and even it is working)
