arrays

I kind of understand how arrays work. The part I can not figure out is how to make it so the user enters the input and not me. I have not been able to find anything on how to get the user to put in something like the name of a movie and some other info so it can be stored and brought up latter. Can some one point me in the right direction please?

Read about the Scanner class in java.util(1.5) and may be later, look at javax.swing.JOptionPane, javax.swing.JTextField, javax.swing.JTextArea etc
