Reading MS Access Bitmap images into JDBC/ODBC Applet

1
I have trying to read the sample database fiields in the Northwind from MS Access into an Applet. I am able to successully read and display all the text fields. But the difficulty comes with 'Photo" images stored as bitmap images in MS Access. Parallely, I was successfully able to read and display a bitmap stored in the database as a file. But the content of the field does not seem to be in the bitmap format. Can anyone help me with the file format of the bitmap image stored in Java?
