Java is too vast

Hi friends i have been a J2EE programmer for the last one year and i work hard on trying to become a good java programmer but the field of java is so vast that i always feel llike catching up all the time can any one help me out and tell me how to go about it and become an expert java programmer and good at all the APIs that J2EE provides.

Is there any method in trying to become a good java professional.

Do some scut work. Bug fixing is a good way to examine code and solve problems. The other activity I suggest you target is to take on new and personally challenging projects. You need to make mistakes and then fix those mistakes as you write LOTS of code. Time and experience are always the best teachers.

To stay up to date, I would suggest frequent use of java forums and frequent visits to the sun site.

I don't think that you will be able to becoma a "good java professional" very fast. I can see that this title of you is maybe more important than programming itself.
Or maybe I'm wrong ;)
I suggest you to learn to enjoy the process of learning. Then maybe you'll stop writing 'wannabe' questions.
Sorry for my opinion, I don't want to insult anyone.
