Have I got this completely wrong?

All I want to do is to package a JAR file inside an EJB Jar file so that the
EJB class file methods can access the JAR's file's classes!

There is no WEB-INF/lib directory as with web components so where exactly
should I place it & how to reference it from the EJB class methods?

This only seems to work if I expand the JAR file inside the EJB classes
directory.

Am I trying to do the impossible? completely off the mark? or wot?

I have tried all sorts of combinations but all fail unless in exploded
format!

please someone put me out of my misery!

thanks

Use the Class-Path attribute of the MANIFEST.MF file in the EJB jar just
as if it were an application.
