GUI in 3D space

VVM
Hello All,

I have a simple question that may have an impossible answer. Is it possible
to view a GUI (JFrame, etc) in 3D space? and maniplute it as if it where a
3D object, yet retain the ability to use it normally?

Thanks .

Don't know if you might refer to this, but take a look at Java3D. I've
never used it, but probably there's something useful for you.

Interesting Question...

I'm sure your familiar with Patterns and Project Looking Glass has
plans to make use of the MVC *like* structure of swing to make a 3d
view of all swing components. I believe work is underway but there is
nothing aside from the demo and source at java.net.

Currently there are 4 people working on it... 3 from Sun and one
community volounteer. I can hardly belive it is going to obtain a great
success... even if it is an interesting project.

Perhaps you should wait and see. If Sun has committed three developers
to it, and there's one outsider also involved, then that's better than many
of the current open source projects that are actually doing okay.
