Dear Sun,
I bought a really nice book about Java ("En dan is er ... Java" by Gertjan
Laan), and bought JBuilder9.
I am very impressed by the Java programming language.
Between 1984 and 1986 I studied computer science at Utrecht University, so I
know the basics of programming.
I was working on Java applet number 5, when I got a Run Time error, so at
first I figured I had made a mistake. So I wrote about it on a newsgroup and
someone suggested it was a bug in Java. Which I refused to believe at first.
Then however I had put my code online, and someone had compiled it and
running on a Sun computer. But the same person who wrote me this, informed
me that with the MSVM he got the same run time error like me.
So if my program doesn't work because of a bug in the Virtual Machine, then
how am I going to fix that? I downloaded a Java plug-in from java.com but
that doesn't fix the VM problem.
Please explain to me what to do! Because this is the last thing I expected.
And I am sure you've got a way around this problem.
Java is really a lot of fun to work on, and I was hoping you could make it
run fine on my PC too! Can you?
