my first applet works but not in IE6

Hello!

Today I wrote my first applet and it worked fine in JCreator, but then I
tried to see if it worked in the browser and it didn't work..
Even the HelloWorld applet didn't run in IE6.
How do I get this to work?
Advice very much appreciated!

If IE6 is up to date (Windows updates etc.) than applet support has been
removed. In fact, the MS-JVM is totally gone from the system. You will have
to install Sun java.

If using an up-to-date version of Java I have found that I sometimes
have to compile to an earlier version of Java for applets to work in a
browser.

It's a switch on the JAVAC command, but I'm not sure how you would do
this from within an IDE.

Just a thought!

Hello!

The problem is that the JAVA runtime environment has to be installed first,
before Internet Explorer 6 is able to run applets.
I did so, and now my applet works in IE6 too...
