Copy diagram from Applet to Microsoft Word

P: n/a
Hi,
Some "directional" help humbly requested please - I've tried a few Google
searches but to no avail.

I am embarking on creating a small applet for Primary School teachers to help
them create a little exercise snippet for their pupils.

I can see the teachers using the applet to generate an output, and then wishing
to copy and paste the output into their favourite word processor.

I'm guessing that the word processor will probably be Microsoft Word.

So how do I arrange for a simple diagram which will consist of rectangular boxes,
straight lines and text strings to be copiable into Word?

I've stumbled across some mention of XML, but if there are any better ideas or
directions I should investigate then I'd appreciate being pointed in the right
direction! :-)

Thanks in advance
