Anyone using J2ME in non-commercial applications?

We are looking at using J2ME in a embedded device that will
be deployed in an industrial application and I've been doing some
research to see how practical J2ME would be for our application.
Most of the devices I've come across that use J2ME are consumer
devices like phones and PDAs. I would be interested in hearing
from anyone who might be using J2ME on devices other than
consumer type devices.

What kind of processor are you using? How much memory? Does
J2ME stand the test of running for 24x7 for weeks/months at a
time? Did you find any big challenges to overcome when porting/writing
your app using J2ME?

We are going to be using a "trimmed down" Motorola 855 processor
with 32 MB of memory running Linux. Has anyone done J2ME on
this platform? How easy was it to port the CVM?

Thanks,
Dave.
