Looking for good intro to NIO

I'm familiar with java.io, and have heard that NIO is super speedy. I
can't find much material on it, though. Could someone point me to a
good overview of the java.nio.* utilities? Also, what advantages do
these classes provide over IO?

i know for sure that there exists one great tutorial about nio. you have to
register to download it. it's free.
