Get the event at webserver when a user closes the explorer

Is it possible to get the event in the servlet when a user logined to the
webserver just closes the IE.

No, it is 100% reliable way of doing it. There are ways to achieve some
notification through Javascript, but IE does not guarantee the execution of
that code. So it will work most of the time, but definetely not always.

The solution is to keep the session timeout as low as possible (5 to 15
minutes) and cleanup when the session expires.
