storing class files in DB2

P: n/a
i posted this on comp.databases.db2, but no response. so, i
ask from the other side.

i've been posted to a project where there have been attempts
to store class files in db2. i'm told that this didn't work. no
mention of what "didn't work" meant, but i assume that the
retrieved class file wouldn't execute.

the server is WebSphere 5 on NT. java is 1.4.1 on NT. the
database is DB2/390. ah. that ebcdic/ascii and endian thingee.

my suspicion is that simple store/retrieve won't work because
of these two conditions.

so, has anyone been able to store NT compiled classes into
any 390 database, and execute from an NT webserver??
