Looking for info on how the JVM handles memory

Looking for info on how the JVM handles memory.

Is there a separate part of memory that handles JNI related activity?

If the JVM process shows a memory leak, is it possible (based on monitoring
the memory) to pinpoint if it is leaking with the Java code, JNI part or C
module?

Any information pertaining to monitoring the JVM and memory would be great.

Thanks.
