Writing FTP Client using NIO - Don't get reply after "putting" file via control SocketChannel - Why?

MB
I am writing an FTP Client using the NIO packages because I want to
use the non-blocking functionality. I have done this successfully
except for the fact that after I "put" an image file to the FTP server
(Microsoft FTP server) I never get a valid response (226 Transer
Complete) from the FTP server when the file has finished writing. I
am using the FileChannel.TransferTo method with a non-blocking
SocketChannel that is connected to the FTP server. I am writing the
image file in a data SocketChannel and expecting a reply from the
server on a control SocketChannel that I have set up. Does anyone
know why I am not getting a response from the FTP server? Because my
Socket Channels are non-blocking the TransferTo method returns write
away but the file actually takes up to a minute or two to actually
finish transferring. When I check the file size on the FTP server and
it finally looks like it should be finished, I am not getting a valid
FTP response in my program.

Thanks,
MB
