Well I'm not sure but my best bet is that you haven't changed the Autoexec.bat file. so if you haven't done this then this is what you do...
Go to c:\ and go tools and folder options...
then click the view tab and select show hidden files and folders and unselect Hide protected operating system files.
now apply and ok
there should be a file called "Autoexec.bat". you need to edit this file in notepad
type PATH=C:\java\bin; or what ever path you saved java in, but if there is already the PATH= then don't type that and use a ; between each path name.
save the file.
I hope this makes sense. Good luck at school.

It seems that your java program is not in the "path". Click on start, then
right click on my computer and select properties, then select the advanced
tab, and then select the environment variables button, and at the bottom
where it says "System variables" edit the "path" variable. In the path
variable value, add the directory where javac.exe is located to the end of
the line. Make sure that you have a semi-colon ; before you add your entry.

So, if your javac.exe is in c:\java\bin, then add ";c:\java\bin;" (without
quotes) to the end of the path variable value.

Close all your dos windows after doing this.

Open a new dos window and you should be ready to go.
