j2me and portable device syncing

Can somebody point me in the right direction for writing a program in j2me
for a portable device that syncs data with an application on a desktop
computer? I realize this is a fairly vague question, but I can't see it
find much for a tutorial or howto on the web.

Thanks!

It depends on the device you are using, if it is a palm hand held you
would have to download the KVM on your Handheld device , it is easy just
install it as you install any palm Application, after developing your
application using netbeans or whatever IDE you are using there is this
tool that converts it to palm specific application which you can then
load on your device. Let me know if you are using a palm device
