Outlook Express mail service

I just did the latest updates to Microsoft Outlook Express(OE), however, on my laptop i cannot open one very important .dbx file.

The message: 'Error reading .dbx file'. I went to the Microsoft support site and followed directions, still no joy. I have uninstalled and reinstalled OE. The same error.
How to avoid this error messages and why it is happening??

Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Outlook Express often crashes or fails to start as a consequence of damage caused to .dbx files. Also, when these files are marked Read-only these files refuse to start or open up and therefore to troubleshoot them by verifying not even the single one is marked as Read only. For better suggestion on issues related with Outlook Express have a look to this thread: Online.File.Repair.OutlookExpress

"Microsoft Outlook Exress" is very old, i think support for it stopped when Microsoft release Windows 7.

There is a tool to view dbx files here ( did not try this!):
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dbxviewer.html

Other sollutions can be found if you google for: 'read email dbx files'
