HTTP Post 500 error

I have a simple asp.net web site put together with MS Visual Web Developer which works fine when I access it from IE. When I give it an equivalent URL from Java (Apache system) with an HTTP Post command, I get a 500 error and nothing arrives at my web page code. Anyone know how to configure IIS 5.1 to handle that error?

Here is a site that may help:
How to troubleshoot an "HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error" error message

500 series messages are always server side.
I had the same problem in IIS 5.0 Windows 2000.
It turned out to be that .net for some reason didn't have enough authority to run. I found this out by giving "Everyone" all access to wwwroot.
I'm in the process of determining how to lock it down now, but at least the site is up... after two days of being down. ouch!
