Web page parsing/reading issues

2 New Member
I have a website say www.mydomain.co m.There are many different files under this domain like a.cfm, b.php, c.html, d.gif etc.
Issue is that sometime (happens once in a while) when I try to access files like
www.mydomain.co m/a.cfm or www.mydomain.co m/b.php browser keeps on loading, this continues for long time somewhere between 1-5 hrs. I try to recycle its application pool. This sometime solves the issue but not always.

During this time when the website is down or under some issue if I try to access
www.mydomain.co m/c.html or www.mydomain.co m/d.gif it displays the content (works fine) in browser without any delay.

Not sure what the exact issue is (Looks like some issue in parsing php & cfm files) or what its solution is but it is really frustrating. Please let me know in case you have encountered such issue and you know solution to this.

PS: All other website that are there in this application pool(including php & cfm sites) runs fine during this breakdown.

Hi, This is a realy tricky one. I have an ASP.NET application where some pages are reading data from a DB and presenting reports. In order for the user to wait while the page is reading data from the DB I am using a DIV with a please wait message which is removed once the page is loaded. In addition I am using a global error handling using the Application_Error void in the Global.asax file. when the application is loading a page which...

Hello, I'm posting the data to another page and reading the results. I'm doing it approximately as described here: http://authors.aspalliance.com/stevesmith/articles/netscrape2.asp It works fine. But I'm getting the result as one string. I know the field names that are actually returned. Is there a way to return the value of each field instead of the whole string? Request.Form(fieldname) doesn't seem to work here.

Hello, I am encountering a behavior I can think of reason for. Sometimes, when I use the .strip module for strings, it takes away more than what I've specified. For example: >>> a = ' <TD WIDTH=175><FONT SIZE=2>Hughes. John</FONT></TD>\r\n' >>> a.strip(' <TD WIDTH=175><FONT SIZE=2>')

Hello. I've got a long web form that has to reload 6-7 times to validate data (sigh, I know) making for a rocky-enough experience for users. To add insult to injury, each time the page reloads, it loads and scrolls back to the top instead of remaining in the section that caused the page to reload. I'm looking for a way to ensure that when a dropdown box is changed near the bottom of the form (2 screens down from the top) that the page...

Due to the behaviour of a particular COM object, I need to ensure that a request for a particular ASP page is finalized before another request for the page is processed. Does IIS have a way to ensure that subsequent requests will be queued until the current request is completed? If not, can IIS be configured to use seperate processes to satisfy requests for a nominated ASP page? Thanks in advance.

I'm a semi-newbie to .NET. I've create a class to handle getting data on a person. It has a couple of properties and a new and save subroutine. I'm loading the data in the page_load even of my program: Dim WithEvents dsPerson As Person Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load If Page.IsPostBack Then Else

Hi all, I am thinking about some tool that let you search on web engines like Google, ThePirateBay, etc. without displaying web pages or showing the returning html. This could be handy from a set top box without a real keyboard but only a remote. (say AppleTV with Backrow) How do you guys suggest to go with that in terms of libraries? I think that I'm going to use boost, for threads and networking, but

Hello, I have a couple of web apps built using C# in VS2008 (.NET 2.0) and in some circumstances they exhibit an anoying feature. If I start in appA and follow a link to appB I can still see the history and navigate back if I choose to do so but, whilst in appB if I press a button to redirect back to itself only returning different data the history is lost and I can no longer navigate back to appA. No JavaScript is used in the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
