2 New Member
Is is possible to execute php code inside an html page on IIS. ? I have PHP running and my scripts with .php extention execute fine, but I can't seem to get my php code to run when embeded inside an .html file. On unix/apache , I can overcome this with a .htaccess file, but am not sure how to make it work on windows/IIS.

using Win Server 2003, IIS, PHP5

thanks in advance

You don't say which version of IIS. Have a look here:

I don't know how to tell which version of IIS. There is no Help->About on the file menu in the IIS console. By the way, I said it was on a Server 2003 machine, actually, it's a Server 2000 and it is whatever the default version of IIS that came with it. I think IIS must not be able to parse php code that has been embedded inside of an html file since there isn't much of anything to be found on the web for it so I will probably move to apache. Thanks anyway.

Hey there, Big-time curiosity issue here... Here's the test code (it's not that long)... it's to display a large number of image links with captions, ideally pulled in from an external file (that part's not here -- spotlighting the problem code): --------BEGIN CODE PAGE------------ <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

I am just trying to decide whether to split my code and uses code behind. I did it with one of my pages and found it was quite a bit of trouble. I know that most people (and books and articles) like it because you can split the code from the design. That is logical. But if you are the only one working on the code, it seem a little overkill. I use Dreamweaver to do my design and find it a bit of a hassle to have multiple files open...

Many (if not most) have said that code-behind is best if working in teams - which does seem logical. How do you deal with the flow of the work? I have someone who is good at designing, but know nothing about ASP. He can build the design of the pages in HTML with tables, labels, textboxes etc. But then I would need to change them to ASP.net objects and write the code to make the page work (normally I do this as I go - can't do this...

Hello All, I'm a newbie to this ng. I'm posting here because I have a question about debugging some javascript on some pages of my website. Please don't call me a "troll" -- because I'm not one. :-))) The next page is called "basic_snake" and creates a message which follows the cursor. Up until today, I used this type of message attached to the mouse pointer for the following pages on my website: index.html, delphi.html &...

Here is my situation: I have an aspx file stored in a resource file. All of the C# code is written inline via <script runat="server"tags. Let's call this page B. I also have page A that contains some javascript code that calls window.open. I pass the resource url of page B to Page A's window.open call. Page B is then loaded and executed but none of the server-side code is rendered. If I view the source of the page, the code (and page...

I have some code that loads up some php/html files and does a few things to them and ultimately returns an html file with some php code in it. I then pass that file onto the user by using echo. Of course then the file doesn't get seen by the user. Is there any command that essentially executes the code and then echo's it? something that will take a string like '<body>blah<?php echo 'Hello'; ?></body>' and actually interpret the php

Hi, I am using PHP and mysql to create a website. I am fairly new to PHP, and thus am grateful to anyone who helps! Firstly I am running a homepage, that displays additional content if a user has logged in. I set a loggedin session in the log in page, which I have tested and works fine in other scripts. I am displaying news on the homepage (which is stored in a mysql database), and this works fine when the user accesses the homepage...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
