ASP Page not working in Mozilla Firefox

33 New Member
Hi,

I have a site whose fist page is html and the rest is ASP. It works fine in IE. But in Mozilla firefox, the first page is displaying. There is a login name & password verification in that page. The login name & password are verified on loading the second page. But when we click OK, the 2nd page is only showing some junk characters. Actually the 2nd page is retrieving some data from an Access DB.
For Apple Safari browser also, same is the case.
What may be wrong? Is there anything to be configured in IIS for browsers other than IE? Or any problem with my ASP page?

Plz help me

Thanks in advance

This is not an IIS issue it is about cross browser compatiblity. Do your users use Firefox?

Since the page does not work in Firefox or Safari, asp is probably generating some non-standard, IE-only markup. We need to see the complete markup or a link to the page to see the problem.

Hi Matsam,

I'm not a pro on this subject but you might want to check the character encoding of the fields that are being retrieved from the DB, if FF is throwing out junk characters (it might be that IE only supports the particular character type). Are you outputting stuff in a particular language (like non-Western-European) that might throw up errors?

All the best,

Sometimes it is possible that these pages do not exist. So Mozilla alerts me that the page cannot be found. My question is can I omit the Alert or throw an exception some how or test if the page exists before hand Now to my solutions, if when mozilla cannot find the page it would...

Is it possible to include SVG object right onto HTML page in Firefox 1.5? (I mean native SVG, not SVG plugin) .... <svg> .... </svg> All samples on mozilla.org are either stay-alone .svg files or XML files. When trying to insert them in HTML page it just doesn't display.

Hello ! We have the following situation - when Ajax request is sent what's being returned by the server is usually an XML (which is used for DOM updates) but sometimes it's HTML which is a whole new page that should replace an existing one. I.e when we issue an Ajax request we don't know what will be returned and analyze the response to act accordingly. Now, the way to replace the current document with a new one used to be easy and...

I am having various problems with web pages on our site not displaying the result of form submissions properly for users with Mozilla type browsers (eg Firefox, Netscape). After investigation I have determined it is because Mozilla often (but not always) repeats the request for a web page. Therefore, when a page is showing the result of a form posting or a redirect, the second request either has no results to show or is repeating the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
