IIS default web site restore

1 New Member
I was having problem with asp file and local host. But dotnet files were working perfectly. So iremove IIS and then install IIS.After that i register ASP.dllfile and then install .NET Framework. Now i am able to open the local host as well as the ASP files also. But during this operation all the configured default web sites are lost. Is there any method by which i can able to restore those Default web sites or the Virtual directories under Default web site.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to restore lost IIS website configuration settings.

IIS settings can be restored if a backup was made.

If not, there is still some chance that you can restore portions if not all of the IIS configuration.

Please read this link: <http://support.microso ft.com/kb/234429/EN-US/> and its related articles.

Greetings, I am in the process of installing a SQL database at a customer location. I have determined that there are 3 ways to do this, and I wanted to know which is the best of the 3. 1 Install From Script. In this method I create the database and its objects in scripts that are run via osql utility on the SQL server machine. For loading any initial data that I need in the database I also run bcp commands.

Hi, I have been trying to set up an automated restore process from prod to backup server. First, I schedule the full database backup nightly, transfer the backup file and restore it to the database on the backup server. Meanwhile, I leave the database ready to accept transaction log from the transaction log backup at noon daily. And I had used different restore options to test out the transaction that was being applied. And I couldn't...

I inadvertently changed the default class1.cs file that you get when you create a new console project. How do I restore that default class1.cs file? (That is, change some property or option so that when I create a new console project, I get that default class1.cs file?) Thanks!

Sorry if this is too far OT - I posted this in the IIS group and got no response - so here goes: What would be a good or recommended way to make a Web site in IIS6 inaccessible to users on the Internet. My situation is that I will periodically update a ASP.NET Web application. While I am making the update (which will take only a couple of minutes, max) and subsequently checking that everything works as planned after the update (which may...

Hello, These discussions have been a tremendous resource, and have really helped me make a lot of progress in a project that I'm working on. As for my problem... I've been working on a form generator in access and have encountered a stumbling block. I've created a table with a set of default memo records (the field name is Clauses) that I would like the user to be able to edit based on the specific nature of their case. However, I...

How can I find the "My Profile" tab on the Start page. I have the "Recent Projects", "Getting Started" and "Visual Studio Headlines" in panes on the left hand side and "MSDN: Visual C++" on the right. The picture in "Introduction to Visual Studio .NET" shows a different Start Page tab with a link "My Profile" highlighted on the left hand side. What I really want to do is restore the default window layout of Visual Studio .NET 2005. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
